Mai Tai – Trader Vic’s Style
- 25ml Bacardi Superior
- 15ml Wray and Nephew overproof
- 15ml Cointreau
- 20ml Rock Candy Syrup
- 20ml Orgeat Syrup
- 25ml Lime Juice
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Shake all the ingredients together and strain in to a glass of crushed ice. Add extra crushed ice to garnish the drink so it looks fresh. Garnish with a mint spring and a lime wedge.
Was it Trader Vic’s restaurant in Oakland, California in 1944 or was it, Don the Beachcomber in 1933? Either or, the Mai Tai translates as “Out of this world” in Tahitian, we agree!
